Founded in 2007 as a designer owned and operated retail gallery space, The Signet Bureau, located in Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, was an early pioneer in the niche slow fashion market segment that has grown and evolved into a thriving local community of specialty boutiques, artists, galleries, jewellers, cafes and restaurants.
In recent years we have complemented our local Melbourne based Creators and introduced selected international Creators whose work embodies The Signet Bureau’s focus on authentic, sustainable and ethical, functional and wearable design.

The store comprises an innovative garment hanging system, suspended from exposed webbed steel trusses, that integrate the clothing and accessories to form part of the architectural space and provides an interactive response to artfully showcase our curation of independent Creators from all over the world.
