However, early matches were unreliable and could ignite spontaneously from friction, necessitating the use of a match safe or Vesta box.

This Vesta box, designed to house these matches safely, reflects the practicality and style of the era. Traditionally carried in a vest pocket or hung on a chatelaine, it has now been reimagined as a striking bracelet. The antique sterling silver chain enhances its vintage appeal, making it a standout addition to any jewellery collection.
