This unique ensemble from Flew Designs features a Victorian sterling silver Target brooch and a small souvenir micro-photo locket, both beautifully suspended on a fine sterling silver box chain. The brooch showcases the iconic target design with a central bullseye and radiating concentric circles, while the micro-photo locket offers a glimpse into the past with its intricate detailing and historical significance.

The Target brooch's historical design and the micro-photo locket's unique charm create a timeless piece that reflects the era's appreciation for art and innovation.

From the 1860s onwards, high-collared necklines adorned with brooches became a signature of Victorian fashion. The Target brooch, inspired by ancient Etruscan and Viking jewellery, was a popular choice. Its design, featuring a bullseye and concentric circles, was derived from the natural pattern of a tree trunk's cross-section. This motif symbolized precision and focus, resonating with the Victorian fascination for nature and historical artifacts.

The micro-photo locket is a tribute to a remarkable Victorian innovation. In 1852, John Benjamin Dancer created the first microphotographs—tiny images on microscope slides. These novelty items quickly gained popularity and were the precursors to microfilm technology. The micro-photo locket captures this intriguing aspect of Victorian ingenuity, making it a cherished keepsake.
